hour drive north of Wellington.

Ratanui is located in the Mangaone North Valley close to SH1. Enjoy the privacy of your accommodation nestled in the valley with surrounding bush, abundant birdlife and meandering streams. Local activities are not far away in Otaki, Waikanae & Levin.
Farm animals on site that you may encounter on your walks include our mob of sheep and in spring time their lambs, some Dexter cows and friendly goats, chooks and guinea fowl. Take a short walk at night and see glow worms in all of their twinkling and magical glory.

About Us
Ratanui Farm is a small working farm. A few years ago the farm partners
David and Anne Smith and Jo and Ken Mason considered sharing the tranquility
of Ratanui with visitors.
Many friends had visited and stayed and commented on how pleasant their time had been. Friends began asking to have return visits. These requests prompted the partners to offer the accommodation more widely.
Ratanui operates as a small working farm. Approximately 60 Perendale ewes are farmed and each year produce lambs. The lambs are sold after Christmas each year after they are weaned from their mothers. A small herd of cattle is kept on the property to help with pasture management. The Woolshed
This cosy country retreat is a great place to relax and unwind, situated on a small working farm.
The unique woolshed accommodation sleeps up to 5 people in 2 bedrooms – 1st bedroom has 1 double bed, 2nd bedroom has 1 single bed, 1 set of bunks. Click here for accommodation costs.
